Performance for Critaoke, merging Paul Thek's Teaching Notes and  Baz Luhrmann's Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen) Site Gallery, 2019

Taking the format of Karaoke, Crit-a-Oke introduces art criticism, theory and academic texts to the mix. Highlighting the performative nature of critical writing, the format also provides a new entry point for audiences to a medium that can -at times- be indecipherable. Participants will perform a piece of writing – spoken, sung or otherwise – to a backing track of an instrumental version of a relevant pop song.
